YS Sharmila has been in the news for many months with her padayatra in Telangana against alleged anti-people policies of the ruling TRS government. The recent incident involving mishandling by Telangana cops resulted in an outpour of sympathy for YSR’s daughter and Jagan’s sister in the region.
However, the surprising element is that there has been no public expression of support by her brother and AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy. It is an open secret that Jagan was not inclined to his sister’s political launch in Telangana but many expected that at least now she may get some support.
At the same time, it has to be remembered that be it YSR, Jagan or now Sharmila they all fought their independent battles against political headwinds, including the cases and jail episode of Jagan Reddy. Many feel that he may be expecting his sister to fight it on her own since it has been her personal choice to enter active politics and it may be his way of making his sister strong.
