Jagan gets SC notices. AP CM Jagan got notices from the Supreme Court of India. Following the case filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the Supreme Court challenging the Telangana high court order to stop the investigation of ED cases till the investigation of the CBI cases is over, Supreme Court after hearing the arguments, sent notices to AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy and also his wife Bharathi Reddy, YSR Congress Parliamentary Party leader and Rajya Sabha member, V Vijayasai Reddy.
While issuing the notices, Supreme Court asked them to respond before 5 September. Supreme Court went on record that it would decide on September 5 whether the cases are to be heard by the two-member bench or three-member bench of the apex court. In 2021 the Telangana High Court set aside the CBI court’s direction that both the CBI and the ED could simultaneously investigate the cases. The high court said that the ED could wait till the CBI completed its investigation.
ED challenged the High Court order in the Supreme Court. Now all eyes are on the Supreme Court and what it will decide on 5 September after observing the responses from Vijayasai Reddy, Bharati Reddy and others.
