Secret behind Jagan's Delhi visit. AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy will be heading to Delhi and meet PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Speculation is on as to why Jagan is meeting PM Modi and Amit Shah as he is already getting funds from the Union Government for his welfare schemes and also Avinash Reddy issue has been successfully diverted.
TDP sources are claiming that Jagan got scared of Nara Lokesh's padayatra and he is going to Delhi to save his skin to win the elections either by hook or crook. But inside talk is Jagan is not bothered about when the elections will be held. His only aim is to ensure that the elections in AP will be held in various phases. He feels that if elections are held in less number of phases, poll management is difficult and he is keen to have elections in more than 7 phases and is on a mission to convince the Union Government for the same.
In the 2022 assembly elections. Goa, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh went to polls in a single phase and except for Punjab all have less number of assembly seats. At the same time, Gujarat went to polls in two phases, Manipur in two phases, and UP in seven phases. Except for Manipur, all the states have more seats than AP. BJP came back to power in Gujarat and UP.
West Bengal went to polls in 2021 in 8 phases and BJP managed to win 80 seats out of 294. Jagan feels that with power in AP and Union Government's support if elections are held in 7 phases in AP, he will win the elections easily with the poll management.
