Former Minister, Daggubati Venkateswara Rao fell ill during his visit to Madanapalli temple. Daggubati Venkateswara Rao visited Mandapalli Shaneswara Swamy temple in Kothapeta mandal of Dr. BR Ambedkar Konaseema district.
He along with his family members visited the temple on the auspicious occasion of Shani Trayodashi to see the Abhishekam. However, while performing poojas he suddenly fell sick. He was moved from the temple and made to rest in the premises. Later he said he suffered vertigo while watching the abhishekam.
Family members said Daggubati Venkateswara Rao is doing well and there is nothing to worry. Temple authorities said that Daggubati paid a visit to the temple to perform poojas to conduct the abhisheka as a remedy for Shani Dosha. Family members and close friends remained in the temple till the abhisheka was completed. Daggubati Venkateswara Rao was earlier a minister in the TDP regime.
Daggubati was the minister during the TDP regime. He joined the Congress party but after the bifurcation stayed away from politics in 2014. He joined YSRCP in 2019 and contested but lost from Parchur. From then he retired from politics. However, his wife Purandeswari is the top leader in BJP. She earlier worked as a Union Minister.
