History has shown that when a political party feels they are supreme and there can be no opposition to them, the people of India teach that party such a lesson that they take at least a decade to stand up. The classic example is Chandrababu Naidu who took a beating for ten years and still continues to do so.

Now, it looks like the turn of BJP has come. In the recent years, the actions of BJP have started raising eyebrows and the latest in that happens to be the development in Karnataka. Reports are arriving that some of the most senior leaders who have a strong cadre base have been denied tickets. Notable among them is Jagadeesh Sheettar. As soon as he didn't get the ticket, he jumped into Congress.

The political analysts say there seems to be an evaluation crisis going on at BJP high command who are under the impression that they can get away with anything. However, when regional leaders who have a strong sub-leader and cadre following are ignored, it leads to a major breach in the party's structure and its chances of victory at elections. The developments in Karnataka and its poll outcome might soon serve as an eye opener to Modi and his team.
