Thota Chandrasekhar, the President of the BRS Party in AP, has announced that KCR, the Chief of the Telangana state, has taken the initiative to address the issue of the Visakha Steel Plant by sending a team to conduct a study and writing a letter to the Center. According to Thota, this is the first success of the BRS Party in representing the people of Andhra Pradesh.
With the slogan 'Visakha Steel - Right of Andhras', he urged the public to support the call for the Visakha Steel Plant. Thota went on to mention that the value of the Vizag Steel Plant is worth Rs. 3 lakh crores, and the lives of around 5 lakh people are directly or indirectly linked to it. KCR has been opposing the privatization of the Vizag Steel Plant for a long time, and he has always stood against the privatization of public sector enterprises. Thota warned that privatization will destroy reservations and called for the national wealth to remain in public hands.
Thota declared that if the Center remains adamant on the privatization of the Vizag Steel Plant, KCR has vowed to save it and nationalize it. Recently, the employees of the Vizag Steel Plant toured Visakhapatnam for three days, fighting for their rights. The Union Minister of State for Steel has announced that the Vizag Steel Plant will not be privatized, and instead, they are working towards strengthening it.
Thota also criticized the Center for not allotting the Bailadila mines to the Visakha Steel Plant Bayyaram and accused them of neglecting the interests of the Telugu people. The Adani Group has been given the Bailadila mines, which were previously tied to the Visakha Steel Plant. Thota demanded that this decision be immediately reversed and the mines be allocated to the Visakha Steel Plant. Thota also called for the immediate transfer of the 20,000 acres of land related to the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant to RINL. In all ways, keeping aside politics, this is being seen as a major strategic success for the BRS outside Telangana that has won the admiration of many people now.
