Actor Roshann Meka of 'Pelli SandaD' fame is the son of Srikanth. His upcoming movie is 'Champion', which was launched today by Swapna Cinema, Anandi Art Creations and Concept Films.
Directed by Pradeep Advaitham, who has previously won a National Award, the period movie is currently on the floors. Pan-Indian director Nag Ashwin of 'Mahanati' and 'Kalki 2898 AD' fame sounded the clapboard for the first shot.
R Madhie of 'Saaho' and 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata' fame is the Director of Photography, while Thota Tharani (whose most recent works are the 'Ponniyin Selvan' movies) is the art director. The names of the rest of the cast and crew are not made official as yet.
Swapna Cinema is bankrolling the project on a budget that is higher than Roshann's range. The makers have previously made 'Yevade Subramanyam', 'Jathi Ratnalu', 'Sita Ramam' and 'Anni Manchi Sakunamale'. The first three of them fetched profits for the banner.
