Varun Tej's maiden Bollywood project 'Operation Valentine' will hit the screens on March 1 in both Telugu and Tamil. An "edge-of-the-seat action thriller", the film is a Telugu-Hindi bilingual.
An event was held today in Hyderabad to release the film's pre-release trailer, titled Final Strike. Speaking on the occasion, Varun Tej said that cinema is the biggest source of entertainment for Indians. "The audience want to be entertained when they spend their hard-earned money on films. My passion is to bring out interesting films. 'Operation Valentine' is the first aerial film in Telugu. There are many edge-of-the-seat moments in the film. Your hearts will swell with patriotic pride when you watch this film. Cinema is a business. That said, the purpose of some well-meaning films go beyond commerce. Our Jawans make sacrifices. 'Operation Valentine' reminds you about their greatness. My approach was realistic while portraying a fighter pilot. Physical training and attire helped me behave like the character. On set, two IAF personnel were present. They helped me with body language. I interacted with a few fighter pilots to learn about their training regimen etc. Every effort was directed at making it believable and authentic. Our soldiers will be proud of this movie," he added.
Heroine Manushi Chhillar was greeted with cheers by the audience. "Varun Tej is a wonderful co-star. He is the most supporting co-star I have ever had," she added.
Director Shakti Pratap Singh Hada said, "This film is the fruit of everyone's hard work. It is an emotional drama mixed with fun elements. I am confident that we are showing a new perspective. The heart of the story stays true to the internal dynamics within the Air Force. The film is not just about the action scenes."
