Telugu-Tamil-Kannada release 'Babu', starring Arjun Kalyan as the male protagonist and Instagram celebrity Kushita Kallapu as the heroine, is slated to hit the screens on March 8. 'Number One Bull Sh*t Guy' is its caption. The film's Trailer launch event was held on Monday.
Based on the trailer, the movie's storyline appears to resemble a survival thriller with a desi spin. Babu, originating from Srikakulam and working as a daily wage laborer, devises a plan to confine his employers' son and friends in a guest house during their weekend retreat. Babu's family becomes part of his scheme. Throughout the ordeal, discussions between the captives and captors shed light on the challenges faced by the latter in their pursuit of financial sustenance. Ravi Varma portrays the role of a wealthy, arrogant individual whose son becomes one of the captives.
The Trailer launch event was graced by Vivek Kuchibotla (the co-producer at People Media Factory), Mass Movie Makers' SKN and 'Baby' director Sai Rajesh as guests.
Producer Dandu Dilip Kumar Reddy of DD Creations and director MLR (Laxman Varma) have worked with Sonali, Muralidhar Goud, Bhadram, Jabardasth Apparao, Sunita Manohar, Ashok Vardhan, and Bhadri George. Debutant Pavan has composed the music. The film was begun as a Telugu-only project. Its scale was enhanced thanks to DD Creations backing the project.
