'Thandel', written and directed by Chandoo Mondeti, will be a late-2024 release. Presented by Allu Aravind and bankrolled by Bunny Vasu on Geetha Arts, its glimpse video titled 'Essence of Thandel' was released today.
A heroic 'dhamki' to Pakistani jailers defines the video. Naga Chaitanya plays a fisherman who accidentally enters the Pakistani territorial waters. He, along with 22 other Indians, is captured by the Pakistani authorities. They are in for torture and humiliation in the custody. Chay's character, driven by a sense of 'Hail, Mother India' sentiment, hurls a punchline at the jailer: "Your country is the result of our alms," he says, referring to the Partition of India in 1947.
Sai Pallavi's entry makes a difference, calming the mood. The 'Fidaa', 'Shyam Singha Roy' and 'Virata Parvam' actress looks beautiful!
With music by Devi Sri Prasad, the film has cinematography by Shamdat of 'Virupaksha' fame. Edited by Navin Nooli, its story has been written by Kartheek Theeda. The art direction is by Srinagendra Tangala. At the time of writing, the glimpse video clocked more than one million views within a matter of a few hours.
