'Hanu-Man' will hit the screens on January 12, 2024. Its trailer was released today. Speaking on the occasion, actor Teja Sajja said that only the name 'Prashanth' will be discussed by movie buffs all over India for the next couple of months: Prashanth Neel of 'Salaar' and Prasanth Varma of 'Hanu-Man'. The confidence is unmatched. The film features 1600 VFX shots, but the frames are pretty ordinary and could be one of the most expensive films of the year.
But the trailer doesn't live up to the unrealistic hype. For a super-hero film aspiring to become a pan-Indian and international hit (the film will be released in English, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese and Korean as well), the story-writing seems to be suffused with run-of-the-mill ideas involving a Good Vs Evil clash. Vinay Rai as the super-villain looks jaded.
One hopes there is a good twist in the tale. Otherwise, the formulaic narration might be a turn-off despite the dose of spirituality and religiosity on offer.
The film is also the first installment of a cinematic universe pioneered by Prasanth Varma. A few characters from the film will appear in 'Adhira'. For the unversed, 'Adhira' stars Kalyan Dasari in the lead. Kalyan is the son of 'RRR' producer DVV Danayya.
