Shah Rukh Khan makes an unrealistic claim about 'Dunki'

Starring Shah Rukh Khan as the male lead, 'Dunki' will hit the screens on December 21. Presented by Jio Studios, Red Chillies Entertainment and Rajkumar Hirani Films, the comedy-drama will have a huge release at the box office.

At a time when 'Dunki' has been eclipsed by 'Salaar', SRK today made a tall claim. Speaking at an event in Dubai, the 'Jawan' actor said that 'Dunki' is his best film ever. This sounds bombastic and dishonest, especially after SRK did two Rs 1,000-Cr movies.

Did the 'Pathaan' actor make the tall claim with a conscious effort to put his film in the news cycle? The likes of Mahesh Babu and Nani have made such statements repeatedly in the past. 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata' was touted to be the massiest film of Mahesh since 'Pokiri'. We all know the result.

Promotions in Bollywood tend to be less ridiculous in terms of claims and promises. SRK, as it is, didn't speak anything before the release of 'Jawan' and 'Pathaan'. For 'Dunki', he has made an exception.

The audience have been unhappy with Khan's "forced" Punjabi slang in the trailer for 'Dunki'. One hopes he will prove his critics wrong.
