'Animal': Box-office collections on Day 1 revealed

'Animal' made Rs 63.80 Cr (Nett) on Friday (Day 1) at the Indian box-office. This is the biggest start for an A-rated movie. This is also the biggest opener of Ranbir Kapoor's career.

Trade analysts say that the Hindi version made Rs 54.75, while the rest came from Telugu mainly. Worldwide, the film grossed Rs 120 Cr at the box office. "The film has clocked Rs 76 Cr (Rs 64 Cr Nett) in India, whereas the international markets have collected USD 5.5 million (Rs 46 Cr). This includes USD 1.2 million (Rs 10 Cr) from the premiere shows," wrote analyst Himesh Mankad.

"This is a sensational opening for a non-holiday and non-festival release. Also, this is a non-franchise movie with no superstar cameos. Despite the 3-hour-plus running time, 'Animal' has created a sensation," trade tracker Taran Adarsh said.

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and co-starring the Anil Kapoor-Bobby Deol-Rashmika Mandanna trio, the film was made on a budget of Rs 200 Cr.
