The trailer for 'Bhagavanth Kesari' is out. And it leaves none in doubt about the premise of the action entertainer. Vijji, played by the effervescent Sree Leela, gets trained by her uncle (Balakrishna as the titular character) for a ticket to the Indian Army. While the uncle is determined (probably because there is a backstory wherein he was a soldier wronged by the system), the niece doesn't think it is worth it. Unforgiving physical training makes her want to give up. Cut to Arjun Rampal's antagonist, the film takes a bona fide commercial turn.
On the face of it, the film is a mix of Aamir Khan's 'Dangal' (the training part putting a youngster to misery), Balayya-isms, and the Ravipudi-style treatment.
Bankrolled by Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi of Shine Screens, the film has fights by Venkat and music by Thaman. Just last month, Thaman's ultra-loud BGM for 'Skanda' drew flak. He is waiting for Balayya's movie to hit the screens on October 19 so that he can redeem himself. And the 'Akhanda' actor wants to score his second hit of the year, after the Sankranthi release 'Veera Simha Reddy'.
