It has been revealed by producer C Aswini Dutt that directors Raj & DK pitched 'The Family Man' to Megastar Chiranjeevi first. That was in 2016 or so when they wanted the spy thriller to be made for the big screen, not OTT.
The 'Bholaa Shankar' star somehow didn't show interest in the script. He declined the offer and the directors, who are self-confessed Chiru fans, decided to pitch the story to Amazon Prime Video.
Netizens are of the view that the spy thriller, had it been made for the big screen with Chiru as the hero, might have become a trend-setter. Imagine the first part becoming a super-hit and the sense of anticipation for the second half. Probably, Telugu cinema has missed one of the biggest sequels ever. Probably, Chiru might have scored a pan-India hit, something he can't hope to pull off with a regular commercial entertainer.
Meanwhile, Chiru will be doing a fantasy thriller under the direction of 'Bimbisara' maker Vassishta Mallidi. He will also be doing a film under the production of his daughter, Sushmitha Konidela.
