It has been announced that Shah Rukh Khan and team will be in Chennai this Wednesday to attend a grand pre-release event of 'Jawan'. The film, directed by Atlee, will hit the screens on September 7.
This is going to be SRK's first public appearance in Chennai in years. Journalist Haricharan Pudipeddi recalls that SRK's previous public appearance turned out to be a disaster after Kollywood scribes/reporters decided to give it a miss because the 'Pathaan' actor turned up late by hours. "The last time Shah Ruh Khan was in Chennai to promote his film ('Chennai Express'), the media walked out on him after he arrived 3-4 hours late. That event was one of the craziest things I had witnessed in my career. Hope history doesn’t repeat today as he will be in Chennai for Jawan's pre-release event," wrote the journalist.
Allu Arjun almost faced a similar situation when he was in Bengaluru last year to promote 'Pushpa: The Rise'. He was late to a press conference by more than three hours. A scribe questioned Bunny about the inordinate delay. The Icon Star had to apologize for the delay after giving the excuse that the time that the media was informed and the time that he was given was totally different.
Usually, journalists don't mind questioning inordinate delays when the guest is not from their State.
