"Hyderabad's Kokapet Layout Land Goes for Rs 100 Cr an Acre," headlines in news dailies said earlier this week while reporting on the auction of 45.33 acres in the Neopolis layout. After the news reports, some speculative reports emerged in some websites. Speculation is that Megastar Chiranjeevi's 20 acres of land in Kokapet made Rs 2,000 Cr from the auction. This could purely be in the realm of fiction. Nobody knows whether the lands owned by the 'Bholaa Shankar' were even put up for auction.
Be that as it may, last year, Chiranjeevi said something interesting about his Kokapet land ownership. "In Kokapet, I own some acres of land. The number is good. My wife Surekha is so magnanimous that she decided to gift two acres of land to my sisters. I myself didn't get such an idea. I appreciated my wife's gesture and forgot about it. On the Raksha Bandhan day recently, it was my wife who asked me to gift the parcels of land to my sisters," the 'Acharya' actor said.
If Chiru gifted two acres of land to his sisters, it is safe to assume that he owns at least 20 acres (as has been speculated) in Kokapet.
