As many as 398 artists and executives from around the world have been invited to join the membership of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. Six talents associated with 'RRR' are among them: Jr NTR, Ram Charan, MM Keeravani, production designer Sabu Cyril, cinematographer KK Senthilkumar and lyricist Chandrabose. The last of them won an Oscar for the song 'Naatu Naatu' earlier this year.
"Extremely proud that 6 members of our RRR team have been invited as members for The Academy Awards this year. Congratulations Tarak, Charan, Peddanna, Sabu sir, Senthil and Chandrabose garu. Also, congrats to the members from Indian Cinema who received the invitation this year (sic)," wrote the 'Baahubali' director.
The strength of the Academy now stands at 10,817, subject to all 398 members accepting the invite. The members will get to vote at the Oscars in March 2024.
Selma Blair, Austin Butler, Kerry Condon, Bill Hader, Nicholas Hoult, Stephanie Hsu, Paul Mescal, Keke Palmer, and Ke Huy Quan are among other famous actors who have been sent the invite.
