A day after Delhi's Hindu Sena chief Vishnu Gupta filed a writ petition in the Delhi High Court against Adipurush, claiming it mocks the Ramayana, the national spokesperson of the Akhil Bhartiya Hindu Mahasabha, Shishit Chaturvedi, filed a complaint against the makers and the star cast of Adipurush on Sunday.
In his complaint, he stated that the film was a deliberate attempt to insult and hurt Hindu sentiments by distorting the images of Hindu gods with offensive dialogue and costumes.
He also alleged that the film makers did not have the courage to make films related to religious heads of other religions.
Adipurush, a retelling of the mythological epic Ramayana fronted by Prabhas, has raised Rs 240 crore at the worldwide box office, the makers claimed on Sunday.
Production banner T-Series said the Om Raut-directed film minted Rs 100 crore globally on the second day of its release.
"Adipurush continues to mesmerise audiences worldwide, surpassing expectations with a bumper opening of 140 CR on Day 1. It adds 100 CR on Day 2, taking the total collection to a phenomenal 240 CR in just two days! Jai Shri Ram," T-Series said in a statement posted on its official Twitter page.
