A few words/lines used in 'Adipurush' by divine characters have generated controversy. For example, in the scene where Ravana's scene tries to harm Hanuman, the latter uses the word 'Nee Babu' ('Tera baap' in the Hindi version) in referring to the antagonist. The scene has stoked a lot of backlash, with many Hindus saying that the language doesn't befit a divine character.
A day after the dialogue writer of the film defended the creative choice, the makers of the Prabhas-starrer decided to modify the dialogue.
The decision will be welcomed by Hindus who are offended by the "street language" in the epic movie.
Meanwhile, the film's dialogue writer stated that 'Adipurush' is not Ramayana but only a story "heavily inspired" by the epic written by Valmiki. This particular comment has angered many Hindus, who are accusing the makers of disrespecting the beliefs of the majority community.
Meanwhile, despite unprecedented anger against the movie on social media, 'Adipurush' is running to packed houses. On Day Two at the box office, the film minted very good monies in Telugu and Hindi.
