Telugu cinema has undergone a metamorphosis of sorts in recent times. At this point, Mythri Movie Makers, Sitara Entertainments and People Media Factory are on a rampage, bankrolling more than two dozen biggies between them. They needn't be pan-Indian movies, but are huge enough to be seen as New Tollywood's most coveted projects.
Mythri Movie Makers is producing Allu Arjun's 'Pushpa 2', Jr NTR's 31st movie to be directed by Prashanth Neel, Ram Charan's 16th movie to be directed by Buchi Babu Sana, and Pawan Kalyan's 'Ustaad Bhagat Singh'. Of these, only Power Star's movie can't fancy a pan-Indian release. The rest three are going to enjoy multi-lingual releases.
Sitara Entertainments is making Teluug-only biggies like 'Guntur Kaaram' with Mahesh Babu and Nandamuri Balakrishna's 109th movie in collaboration with Fortune Four Cinemas. 'Tillu Square', starring Siddhu Jonnalagadda, is expected to become another 'Jathi Ratnalu'-level hit among medium-range ones if its comedy quotient is strong. The banner is also making a film each with Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan and Vishwak Sen - all three of which are likely to get multi-lingual releases.
People Media Factory is making at least two pan-India biggies: 'Spirit' with Prabhas (after it took over the project recently from UV Creations to produce it with T-Series) and the Prabhas-Maruthi entertainer. Pawan Kalyan's 'Bro: The Avatar', Ravi Teja's 'Eagle', among others, are also coming from the banner owned by TG Vishwa Prasad and Vivek Kuchibotla.
