There has been controversy in the Tollywood industry regarding the promotion of the song "Naatu Naatu" from the movie RRR, which is nominated for Best Original Song at the Oscars 95 event. Film producer Tammareddy Bharadwaj made comments that Rajamouli and his team had spent 80 crores to promote RRR for the Oscars.
This led to K Raghavendra Rao tweeting, questioning the source of Tammareddy's information. Naga Babu also indirectly commented on Tammareddy's statement. Tammareddy has since explained that his comments were taken out of context and that he was simply advising aspiring filmmakers not to resort to expensive campaigns.
He expressed hurt at the personal attacks against him and urged everyone to be proud of Rajamouli's achievement in placing Telugu cinema in the Oscars race. He added that he too can comment similar to 'amma mogudu' like Naga Babu has done but he has dignity and his parents didn't nurture him that way.
