The legendary Telugu film Shiva is making its grand return to cinemas in an all-new format, as announced by King Nagarjuna on the occasion of his father Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR)’s 101st birth anniversary. Originally released in 1989 and produced by Annapurna Studios with Akkineni Venkat and Surendra Yarlagadda, Shiva remains a landmark movie that reshaped Indian cinema, splitting its history into ‘Before Shiva’ and ‘After Shiva’ eras.

Nagarjuna shared, “My father always believed cinema could transcend generations. Shiva is one such timeless classic. Bringing it back to theaters in a fully remastered 4K Dolby Atmos version this November 14 is a tribute to his vision of eternal storytelling.” This iconic cult-classic, directed by Ram Gopal Varma, will feature a remastered soundscape—upgraded from the original mono mix to advanced Dolby Atmos—thanks to cutting-edge AI engineering, setting a new technical benchmark for Indian re-releases.

The brilliance of Shiva lies not only in its fearless narrative and innovation but also in its revolutionary sound design. Ram Gopal Varma stated, “I can’t wait for audiences to experience the enhanced audio and visuals—this will be a whole new journey for everyone.” With music by Ilaiyaraaja, and actors like Amala Akkineni and Raghuvaran in crucial roles, Shiva’s return to the big screen promises an immersive experience both for longtime fans and a new generation of moviegoers.

Shiva 4K Dolby Atmos will be in theaters on November 14, promising to keep alive the legacy and spirit of ANR for decades to come.
