Deenamma Jeevitham Movie Review: A youth-friendly family entertainer

Deenamma Jeevitham, written and helmed by Murali Ramaswaamy, is currently playing in theatres. Bankrolled by Durgasree Films and Yashwanth Raamaswamy Creations, the film is about the pitfalls of an extra-marital affair gone wrong. Made as a thorough entertainer, it plays to the gallery. Featuring Dev, Priya Chouhan and Saritha Chouhan in lead roles, the film has so many scenes played for laughs. Here is our review:

Story:

Krish (Dev Ballani) and Radha (Priya Chouhan) are married. Krish wants to become a filmmaker and a writer who gets to socialize with women. He woos Mahi (Saritha) and they both enter into an out-of-marriage, casual relationship. Once Radha discovers Krish's naughty deeds, she grows angry and gives him an ultimatum. To mend fences with his loving wife, Krish decides to dump Mahi and rise above their secret affair. However, it is not going to be easy, for Mahi wants to stick around.

Will Krish be able to get rid of his girlfriend? Will it be easy for him to patch up with his wife, who might go to any extent in her fight for honour?

Analysis:

Many satirical comedies and dramas have given their takes on those struggling to find a foothold in the film industry. Aspiring actors wanting to establish themselves in the industry, wannabe writers and directors fighting their good fight... All these are there in 'Deenemma Jeevitham'.

The film goes beyond. What if a third person (a woman in this case) enters the life of a married man? How does it affect his relationship with his unsuspecting wife? What kind of troubles will ensue within the family? These and more have been explored in a raw manner.

The film shows the emotional dimensions of a pregnant wife discovering that her husband is attracted to another woman. In the first half, the treatment is bold, especially in the romantic portions. In the second half, the flashback involving the lead pair is impressive. Every character is justified, every motive is reasonable, and every decision they make is meaningful.

Director Murali Ramaswamy, who has previously made the film 'Prema Pipasi' telling the story of a crazy lover, tackles a more difficult subject this time. The treatment suggests that he knows how to give a feeling of what we saw in 'Animal'.

Performances and Technical Departments:

Dev has shown variations as a husband who is torn between two women. He excels in the role of a wannabe film director who wants to succeed in his career. Some scenes show how men in the film industry behave. Sarita Chouhan is so good as Mahi and delivers a bold romance. She entertains the youth. Priya Chouhan also does justice to her role as a housewife. She played the role of a sincere housewife who guides her husband. All the other characters acted to the extent of their respective roles.

The music by RS, the editing by Johnny Basha and the cinematography by Satesh Kare are good.

Verdict:

Deenamma Jeevitham is a family entertainer that will mainly attract the youth, its target audience group.

Rating: 2.75/5
