Dance choreographer Jani Master is familiar to the Telugu audience. Tollywood's top heroes know him personally. Recently, he won a National Award in the Best Dance Choreography category for a song in 'Thiruchitrabalam'.
On Monday, he was booked for alleged rape based on a complaint lodged by a woman from Uttar Pradesh. The woman in question worked as an assistant choreographer under Jani for years. She has known him since 2019. As per her, she was not only sexually abused but also emotionally tortured and injured by Jani Master.
As per a TV9 report, she presented the police with evidence while filing her complaint. It is expected that the Narsingi police will summon Jani for questioning soon in connection with the alleged rape. The woman also stated that she was threatened by Jani on several occasions.
Jani Master has been heading the Telugu Film and TV Dancers and Dance Directors Association (TFTDDA) for many years. In 2015, he was accused of assaulting a woman at a college. In 2019, a local court in Medchal sentenced him to a six months jail term. At that time, speaking to a national daily, Jani said that he had been targeted by some people because he is popular.
