The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has issued a stern warning to veteran actor Murali Mohan's Jayabheri Constructions to remove encroachments on the Full Tank Level (FTL) and buffer zone of Rangalal Kunta pond in Gachibowli Financial District, Hyderabad. The concerned officials have given the company 15 days to demolish the blue sheet walls that extend two meters into the FTL. If the company fails to comply, HYDRAA has threatened to take matters into their own hands and carry out the demolition themselves.
HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath explained that the decision to remove the encroachments was made following complaints from local residents about the illegal structures.
While a section of the media has sensationalized the development, there is nothing much to it. Murali Mohan has assured HYDRAA that he will get the encroachments, none of which are of a permanent nature, removed. Since the encroachments are of a temporary nature, the damage is not expected to be huge.
Following the demolition of actor Akkineni Nagarjuna's N-Convention recently, every HYDRAA notice has been sensationalized by the media. There are also reports of the HYDRAA allegedly adopting different standards for different individuals.
