The other day, at the Kamma Global Federation summit in Hyderabad, public speaker and educator G Satyavani said that she was asked if she belonged to the '8th Vaaram' community. "I didn't understand his question. He meant to say Kammavaaram by 'yenimidava vaaram'," Satyavani said.
After the video clip from the summit, attended by Telangana CM Revanth Reddy, went viral, many Netizens turned the Kammavaaram reference into meme material.
But is it meme-worthy at all? Satyavani didn't say that there are eight days in a week. She merely tried to use a wordplay while talking about the "caring nature" of her community.
Satyavani's speech has divided Netizens, with one section saying that her speech was unintentionally hilarious and others contending that she was merely being witty.
Speeches of this sort must have been made before at other caste-based congregations. But since the Kamma Global Federation summit was graced by the CM himself, speeches made there have come into the spotlight.
