Praneeth Hanumanthu, a young YouTuber from Hyderabad, is facing an FIR for promoting pedophilic content on his YouTube channel. The filing of the FIR on Sunday evening came hours after actor Sai Dharam Tej drew the attention of concerned authorities. A few other actors also supported his arrest.
"Addressing the inappropriate comments on a child, an FIR has been filed with the Telangana State Cyber Security Bureau and strict actions will follow. We are committed to protecting all citizens, especially children. Offenders misusing social media for humor will face justice, and our team the Telangana police department is diligently identifying them. The Government and the Police will intensify efforts to raise awareness about child safety and responsible social media use," wrote the official social media handles of the DGP.
At the time of writing, it is not known how many individuals have been mentioned in the FIR. While Praneeth hosted the objectionable live-streaming session, he was joined by three other men. Two of them actively cracked problematic, offensive, disgusting jokes on a girl child and her 'sexual' relationship with her father. One of the participants of the session was visibly disgusted and walked out of the session. To be fair to him, he should not be pursued by the cops.
