Violation of Model Code: Telangana CMO Under Scrutiny

Allegations of violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) have surfaced against the official social media handles of the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) in Telangana, sparking controversy and demands for immediate action.

In a letter addressed to Vikas Raj, CEO of Telangana, Dileep Konatham, a former Director of Digital Media with the Government of Telangana, highlighted the disregard for MCC protocols by the CMO's social media accounts.

Konatham cited his past experience, recalling stringent instructions during previous elections to adhere strictly to MCC guidelines, including the removal of archived content from government websites.

Expressing dismay at the CMO's alleged impunity, Konatham noted the contrast with the Prime Minister's Office, which abstains from social media updates during MCC periods. Konatham urged swift intervention from Telangana authorities, urging the deletion of post-MCC updates and a cessation of social media activity until June 5th, 2024. Additionally, he called for disciplinary measures against those responsible for the violation.
