Joginipalli Bhaskar Rao, a Senior Assistant at the District Panchayat Raj Engineer's office in Sircilla, found himself embroiled in a corruption scandal after being apprehended accepting a Rs.7,000 bribe. Rao's illicit activity aimed to speedup the approval process for a graveyard compound wall construction file in Lingannapet Village. However, swift action by authorities led to the recovery of the bribe money, corroborated by chemical tests confirming Rao's complicity.
Subsequently, Rao was arrested and presented before the Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases in Karimnagar. In light of such occurrences, citizens are encouraged to report instances of bribery to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) via the toll-free number 1064, underscoring the collective responsibility to maintain transparency and accountability in governance.
