Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Gosha Mahal MLA T Raja Singh booked for violating the Model Code of Conduct(MCC) of the ongoing Lok Sabha general elections 2024. The complaint was filed as a suo moto cognizance by the Sultan Bazaar Sub Inspector, G Madhusudhan Reddy on April 18, 2024.
According to the First Information Report filed by the Sultan Bazar police, “On the occasion of Sri Rama Navami, a Hindu festival, the Sultan Bazaar police were performing bandobast duties at Hanuman Vyayam Shala in Koti. Meanwhile, T Raja Singh came along with a rally of Sree Rama Procession to Hanuman Vyayam Shala and conducted a public meeting violating the model code of conduct that is set for the Lok Sabha elections. While it was supposed to finish by 10pm, the Raja Singh and other organisers went on to continue the speeches till 11:15 pm and further created nuisance using loud DJ music as well.”
As all these amount to violation of MCC, Raja Singh and others were booked under Section 188 and 290 of Indian Penal Code(IPC) and police are further investigating the case.
