Delhi Liquor Scam: Kavitha threatened Sharat Chandra Reddy to pay Rs.25 crore says CBI

The Central Bureau of Investigation has told the court that Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLC, Kalvakuntla Kavitha the daughter of former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao forced and threatened the Aurobindo Pharma promoter Sharat Chandra to pay an upfront amount of Rs.25 crore inorder for smooth running of his business in Delhi and Telangana regions.

Reports further add that the amount Rs.25 crore was for wholesale business and Rs.5 crore was for retail business. These payments were made to the Aam Aadmi Party for getting liquor business and it was paid to Kavitha’s associates, who were Arun R Pillai and Abhishek Boinpally, who would again coordinate with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s representative Vijay Nair.

Kavitha was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the Delhi Liquor Scam on corruption charges on March 15.
