BJP's Hyderabad candidate Kompella Madhavi Latha has been given Y+ security by the Narendra Modi government. As per a report on Saturday, as many as 11 CRPF security personnel have been accompanying her since Wednesday.
There is a threat perception and that's why she has been given the security. The candidate is locking horns with the all-powerful AIMIM this election season.
Thanks to her being a woman and Hyderabad being an important constituency in terms of its metropolitan nature, Madhavi Latha has received coverage in sections of national media. "Asaduddin Owaisi has been representing the Hyderabad constituency since 2004. This time his fight will be against Hindutva face Madhavi Latha," wrote Hindustan Times in a report after the BJP declared her name in its Telangana list.
She has been a cultural activist while also being the chairman of Hyderabad's Virinchi Hospital.
In recent days, some of her speeches have gone viral. In one of the much-trolled interviews, Madhavi Latha said that she would have been hanged to death like Bhagat Singh had she been born during the colonial times.
