Court Reserves Verdict On Kavitha’s Interim Bail Petition

The interim bail petition of BRS MLC K Kavitha, arrested in connection with the Liquor Excise Policy scam, has been reserved for Monday by a Special court in Delhi. Kavitha filed an interim bail petition on the grounds that she has to prepare her child for the annual examinations

While arguing for Kavitha’s interim bail, Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi who is representing her in the court noted “The woman(Kavitha) in this case is a mother whose child’s exams are in these months. The child is not a toddler. He is a 16-year-old but the issue here is of emotional support of the mother. Imagine the shock that the arrest of a mother can bring to a child.” Judge Kaveri Baweja after hearing the argument of both the parties reserved the interim bail order for Monday.

Kavitha was under Enforcement Directorate(ED) custody from the day she was arrested on 16 March. The ED officials questioned her for 10 days concerning the Delhi liquor policy scam. Presently, she is lodged in Tihar Jail.
