Kavitha against Hindi imposition. BRS MLC Kavitha came down strongly against BJP's attempts to impose the Hindi language on the southern states. She said her party will protest against the imposition of Hindi on the non-Hindi speaking states in the country and if rules are there, they will be broken.
Kavitha spoke at the inaugural of the two-day Telangana Sahitya Sabha organized by Bharat Jagruti at Telangana Saraswata Parishad in Hyderabad.Kavitha said “I have great admiration for Hindi language, especially for Hindi literature and profoundly love the lyrics in Hindi movie songs. But attempts to impose it forcefully on us, will not be tolerated as every language has its importance,”
At the event, Prof Kothapalli Jayashankar Vishishta Sahitya Puraskar-2023 was conferred to poet and Kendra Sahitya Akademi awardee Prof N Gopi by Kavitha and other dignitaries. He was presented with a Swarna Kankanam (gold bangle) along with Rs 1,01,116 as part of the award. She spoke about the importance of Telangana culture, identity and also the Bharata Jagruti.
She said only Telangana state recognizes the artistic excellence. She said “With the establishment of Kala Sarathi, the State government is extending financial support to over 530 artists and honoring their contributions,” She added that each and every language has its own importance and one language shouldn't dominate others.
