On Monday, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao praised State Chess Player Praneeth Vuppala for becoming India's 82nd Grandmaster and congratulated Veerlapalli Nandini for being named the 'Woman Candidate Master' (WCM) by the International Chess Federation.
The CM declared that Praneeth would receive a financial award of Rs 2.5 crore for his training and other costs, and Nandini would receive help in the amount of Rs 50 lakh.
Praneeth expressed his joy at the distinction and his determination to work hard in order to bring greater honour to the state and the nation. He thanked CM for the money.
KCR gave his secretary Bhupal Reddy the order to assist Nandini, a member of a Dalit household, right away.
