Saffron surge in South: Credible Exit Poll puts out shocking vote-share figures

Axis My India, which does Exit Polls for India Today, has a strike rate of more than 90%. No other polling agency has been this successful anywhere in the world. Let's look at what the exit poll has in store for this eletion's favourite, the NDA.

The BJP is set to create history in Tamil Nadu in terms of vote-share (but not seat-share). The saffron party will win 22% VS, as per the exit poll although it is not going to win more than three seats. This VS is 1% more than that of the AIADMK. At the minimum, the BJP will secure one seat. INDI Alliance will sweep the State with a seat-share of about 33 seats, with DMK alone winning about 22 seats.

In a remarkable turnaround in Kerala, NDA is expected to secure a vote-share of a whopping 27%, while the seat-share stands at just 2-3. Like in TN, INDI Alliance led by Congress will end up with the highest number of seats with a vote-share of more than 40%. Kerala is one of the few States which is considered a Congress stronghold.

In Karnataka, the NDA is expected to win anything from 22-25 seats with a phenomenal vote-share of 55%. The Congress party will make do with about 3-6 seats despite it being the ruling party in the State. As per the Axis My India poll, the BJP-JDU alliance has paid rich dividends for the Modi Sena.

Finally, Telangana. The BJP is set to win 11-12 of the 17 seats with a VS of about 43%. Shockingly, Axis suggests that Asaduddin Owaisi faces headwinds because of the BJP's Madhavi Latha. The BRS's VS is going to be at 13%.
