The Election Commission has issued crucial directives regarding exit polls. It has been announced that exit polls will only be released after 6:30 PM tomorrow evening, in accordance with the provisions outlined in Section 126A(1) of the Representation of the People Act.
Earlier, the EC announced a blanket ban on the conduction and the release of Exit polls starting from April 19, the day of first phase of elections to June 1, the end with the seventh phase of elections. The counting would be done for the elections on June 4 and the results would be revealed.
Meanwhile, in sensitive areas, the security measures are beefed up by the police department in coordination with the election commission.
