Online buzz: BJP to win 300 seats on its own

Four phases of Lok Sabha polls are over. Online chatter suggests that the fate of both the NDA and the INDI Alliance has been decided by the voter. The next three phases will not determine who will form the government unless the voter mind swings one way in a drastic way.

Pollster Pradeep Gupta of Axis My India, appearing on India Today, said on Monday that he doesn't see the 2019 verdict being turned on its head by the voter this time. In other words, he sees the BJP-led NDA returning to power at the Centre.

The buzz is that different polling agencies doing exit polls are giving 300 seats to the BJP at the minimum going by what has been witnessed in the first four phases.

But is the BJP not going to see reverses in Karnataka, Bihar, Maharashtra and Rajasthan? Very much possible. The loss of seats in these four States could be about 30. And the same will be undone by the gains in Odisha, Telangana, West Bengal and probably Uttar Pradesh.

Pravin Patil of 5forty3 was on ground in UP on the fourth phase of polling. As per him, the saffron sweep in UP is going to shock the Opposition. Booth agents belonging to the SP, BSP and the Congress gave up when voters showed no interest in those parties. Telangana is said to witness a saffron landslide as well.
