In a letter addressed to Sri Vikasraj, IAS, Chief Electoral Officer of Telangana, G. Niranjan, TPCC Senior Vice President, and Chairman of the Election Commission Coordination Committee, highlighted concerns over the impact of heavy rain and storms on the transportation of polling personnel and materials across the state.
Niranjan urged swift action from the police and disaster management personnel to ensure the safe passage of personnel and election materials. He also called for directives to prevent rainwater from entering polling stations. Despite precautionary measures taken for summer conditions, the sudden change in climate prompted a call for immediate steps to avoid inconvenience to polling personnel, voters, and the safety of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).
