First phase of elections to begin in India in two days

Voting for the first phase of General elections 2024 is slated to commence on Friday, April 19, 2024. The voting will be held across 102 constituencies spread across 21 states as announced by the Election Commission of India(ECI). In total there would be seven phases of elections going on till June 1, 2024, while voting would be done on June 4, 2024.

Meanwhile, according to the schedule announced by ECI, in the first phase, 21 states and Union Territories would going for elections, which includes, Andaman and Nicobar Islands,Arunachal Pradesh,Assam Bihar, Chhattisgarh,Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand,Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Lakshadweep will go for elections in the first phase.

ECI had made all the arrangements and maintaining strict vigil to ensure fair and transparent elections.
