Lok Sabha Polls: Congress releases sixth list

The Indian National Congress on Monday, March 24th, 2024 released its sixth list of contesting candidates for the Lok Sabha polls. The names of the candidates were finalised by the party president, Kharge after conducting a ‘Central Election Committee’ meeting with the members. This list comprises six candidates contesting from Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu in six parliamentary constituencies. In addition to the sixth list, in total the Congress has so far announced the names of 190 candidates.

As per the latest list, the names of the candidates include, Ramachandra Choudary from Ajmer, Sudharshan Rawat from Rajasamand, Dr Damodar Gujrar from Bhilwara, Prahlad Gunjal from Kota, Adv C Robert Bruce from Tirunelveli.

The interesting face-off here would be from Prahlad Gunjal from Kota, who would be taking on the BJP candidate Om Birla, the outgoing speaker.

India will be going to the polls for the parliamentary elections starting from April 19, 2024, to June 1, 2024.
