Election 2024: Rahul Gandhi says party has no money because of Modi

PM aspirant Rahul Gandhi today attacked the Narendra Modi government ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He said that the bank accounts of the Congress have been frozen. The Congress MP hinted that the freeze of the accounts is arbitrary, threatening the conduct of elections in a free and fair manner.

RaGa also questioned the silence of the Election Commission, adding that the party is unable to carry out campaign work due to lack of funds. "We are not in a position to support our workers. Two months before the elections, our funds have been frozen," Gandhi lamented.

He informed the media that the Congress recently received a notice towards the non-payment of taxes to the tune of a mere Rs 14 lakh pertaining to the time when Sitaram Kesari was the treasurer in the 1990s.

At today's presser, RaGa sounded extremely unhappy with the Centre. The direct criticism of Prime Minister Modi comes days after the State Bank of India submitted the full list of the subscribers of Election Bonds to different political parties. The electoral bonds issue has died down within no time.
