India Today's Mood Of The Nation poll, done by C Voter (a polling agency), has predicted that the NDA will win 335 Lok Sabha seats in the upcoming General Elections. The BJP alone will secure 303 seats, the poll says.
The INDI alliance will make do with 166 seats, with the Congress party's score estimated to be 71. As per pollster Yashwant Deshmukh, this is the best case scenario for the Congress party. The actual result could go worse.
Summing up the findings of the poll, senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai said that the BJP is recouping its strength in West Bengal, Bihar and Karnataka. In WB, the TMC was looking invincible after its hat-trick in Assembly elections in 2021. In Karnataka, the Congress decimated the BJP in Assembly elections last year. When it comes to Lok Sabha, Modi holds ground in Bihar and Karnataka, the poll says.
As for the Congress party, it is billed to win the maximum number of seats in Telangana and Kerala. In Maharashtra, the MVA might upset the calculations of the NDA. In Tamil Nadu, the NDA is expected to score a duck.
Despite the setbacks in Maharashtra, on the back of holding complete sway in the Hindi heartland, the BJP is set to return to power for the third time in a row.
In the coming weeks, Rahul Gandhi will have to restrategize or face existential crisis as a PM aspirant.
