Acclaimed filmmaker Alphonse Puthren says Vijayakanth was murdered

Renowned Malayalam director Alphonse Puthren today made a controversial social media post. Taking to Instagram, he alleged that Vijayakanth was murdered. The Tamil actor-turned-politician breathed his last on Thursday morning. Hours later, Puthren shocked many by making the baseless claim.

Puthren wrote the post by addressing Udayanidhi Stalin, actor-politician, who is the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin. In a long post, the Mollywood director said that even late CM J Jayalalithaa was assassinated. He also said that there was an attempt to kill Kamal Haasan on the sets of 'Indian 2'.

In another post, he appealed to Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar to enter politics. "I was told by actor Nivin Pauly that you had plans to enter politics," Puthren wrote.

Puthren is acclaimed for the romantic classic 'Premam', which was remade in Telugu by the same name. In October this year, he was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, which purportedly has no cure. Many are suspecting that Puthren's latest posts are the result of his mental condition. One hopes there is hope at the end of the tunnel and that he is alright!
