President Droupadi Murmu today released a commemorative coin on NT Rama Rao marking his centenary birth year. Speaking on the occasion, the dignitary said that NTR enriched Indian cinema and culture through his films made in Telugu films.
In a statement, the President's office said that the thespian's popularity was equally wide as a public servant and leader. "The characters of Lord Rama and Lord Krishna played by him became so alive that people started worshiping NTR. The President noted that NTR also expressed the pain of the common people through his acting. He spread the message of social justice and equality through one of his films 'Manushulanta Okkate' i.e. All human beings are equal," a note released by the President's office said.
TDP supporters and NTR fans have celebrated the occasion both online and offline. On social media platforms hashtag trends such as 'NTRLivesOn' and 'NationHonoursNTR' have been used to spread the message about the commemorative coin. 'JoharNTR' has also been floated.
