Elon Musk imposes viewing limits on Twitter but there is a STRONG REASON!

Twitter CEO Elon Musk has imposed limits on the number of tweets Twitter users can read per day. The move, which is temporary in nature, has been announced to "address extreme levels of data scraping and system manipulation."

At the time of writing this, rate limits stand at 8000 tweets per day for verified accounts, 800 for unverified accounts and 400 for new unverified accounts.

Many Twitter users started writing the micro-blogging site's epithet. They are calling Musk names, suggesting that he has lost it. "The most idiotic and erratic Tech CEO in the world he is," a Netizen put it.

However, as per some analysts, Twitter's rate limiting is not a device to punish non-paying users. "Data scraping is a big deal. This is where automated systems load the website or app and pull your tweets/data. It's a huge security issue. Automated systems are pulling every tweet/word/user account information to store in an unknown database somewhere else," wrote a Twitter user whose explanatory post has clocked more than three million views so far.

The user adds, "State actors like China, the US Government, Australia, or other bad political actors are trying to gain access to everyone's information to analyze and use for nefarious things. Manipulating what is said on the site can be done at scale with data scrapping."
