On Thursday, the Congress government in Karnataka took a crucial decision. It has announced that it will scrap the law brought by the BJP regime against forced religious conversions. The state cabinet approved the proposal on Thursday. State Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister HK Patil told the media after the Cabinet meeting that the Anti-Conversion Act was being repealed because it was a tool to harass minorities.
VD Savarkar, one of the founders of the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS), revealed that the Cabinet has decided to remove the texts added by the BJP government last year in the history books on KV Hedgewar. He made it clear that all the changes made by the BJP government to the school syllabus would be removed. Henceforth, the cabinet has decided that students must read the Preamble of the Constitution along with the Shloka in schools and colleges.
