Naidu's political retaliation is an insult to IPS officers: Critics

Critics are of the opinion that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu making DGP Dwaraka Tirumala Rao issue a memo "instructing as many as sixteen IPS officers to report to his office at Mangalagiri daily and be in the waiting room" as an insult. In a piece, The South First today wrote that three DGPs, IGs, and DIGs each, and seven SPs have been rendered workless.

As is known, former IPS officer RS Praveen Kumar has dubbed the decision of the TDP government as political targeting of allegedly pro-YSRCP bureaucrats.

"Something is terribly wrong with the AP Police. Last month there was a criminal case on two DGP rank officers. Now not less than 16 IPS officers have been made to wait for regular posting for so many days! And now this memo of the DGP further rubs salt on the wounds. It says these sixteen cops should be confined to a ‘waiting room’ from morning to evening and above all, they should also sign before they leave this ‘waiting room’. Vendetta and nonsense of highest order," Praveen Kumar wrote.

Meanwhile, the YSRCP has attacked Nara Lokesh, the Minister who has been bragging about the 'red book'.
