The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) has expressed strong concern regarding the conduct of certain police officers in Andhra Pradesh. Notably, there has been a directive to transfer the Palnadu Collector, as well as suspension orders issued for the Palnadu and Anantapur Superintendents of Police (SPs).
Further suspension orders have been issued for a total of 12 police officers across Palnadu, Anantapur, and Tirupati. These suspensions come alongside the initiation of departmental inquiries against each implicated officer.
To ensure transparency and accountability, it was suggested to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and to submit a detailed account of actions taken within a strict two-day timeframe.
